This site, spokaneasl.com for Spokane ASL ( American Sign Language ), has been created to help those who are learning, practicing, and/or using ASL (American Sign Language).

This site, Spokane American Sign Language site was first created October 15th, 2006.

This site is run by volunteers who are students of ASL and setup this site to help us collaborate on meetings, links, forums, etc. to maximize learning ASL in the Spokane Washington and surrounding areas.

Check the Events Section & Calendar for weekly meetings schedule and other related events. You can also synchronize the events calendar with your calendar using the iCal/vCal features. Also check the News section for ASL and Deaf related news.

You can also get the RSS feed to get the latest site updates if you use a RSS News Reader.

Registered users can also submit events, news, discussions, links, and other contributions to the site to help out the entire community.

Welcome, and enjoy!

This is not an official EWU or community college site. It is setup by students and former students, to keep studying ASL.
Students (or teachers) would have to upload the syllabus. Please speak to your teacher or fellow students. And remind them about this site and the weekly Saturday meetings from 2-4 pm.
Happy Signing.

Deaf Event for ASL III Class

Posted by Andrea Mills at 2008-02-12 23:13
Hello out there. I need to attend a 2-hour deaf event for my ASL III class at SFCC. I am taking the class at SFCC by distance and live in Chewelah. I'm still in high school, so finding a deaf event locally is difficult. I can only get to Spokane on weekends. Any ideas about events coming up in the next few weeks?

The best place to check out is the EWCDHH (Eastern Washington Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing) and it's website (not always up to date) at:
http://ewcdhh.org/

Also asking on the email list, since there are a number of students, teachers, deaf and hard of hearing people on the email list. Just send a blank email to:
list-subscribe@spokaneasl.com
Then when you get the confirmation email a few minutes later (check your spam filters/folder if you do not see it fairly soon), just follow the directions for verification, then you're part of the list and can post questions there.
